Titanium Valves consist mainly of titanium (about 99%) with minor additions of vanadium and aluminum, depending on the grade of the alloy. The composition is good for strength, light weight, and very good corrosion resistance, particularly in harsh environments such as seawater and chemicals. The mechanical properties are tensile strength of 130-160 ksi, yield strength of 75-100 ksi, and elongation of 10-20%. Physical characteristics encompass a density of 4.43 g/cm³ and excellent fatigue resistance. These characteristics render titanium valves suitable for aerospace, marine, and chemical processing applications.
