Duplex Ball Valves consist mainly of a mixture of austenitic and ferritic stainless steels, usually containing about 22% chromium, 5-7% nickel, and minor amounts of molybdenum and nitrogen. This special composition offers outstanding resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking. The mechanical properties are high tensile strength, usually 100,000 to 120,000 psi, and good low-temperature toughness. Physically, Duplex Ball Valves are highly resistant to wear and oxidation, with a melting point of about 1,400°C, suitable for corrosive and high-pressure conditions.
