AWS Class ENiFe-Cl Coated Electrodes consist mainly of nickel (about 55%) and iron (about 45%), and they have good weldability and corrosion resistance. They are suitable for welding steel and other alloys to cast iron. The mechanical properties are tensile strength of 70-80 ksi, yield strength of 40 ksi, and elongation of 20%. They give tough, crack-free welds and are resistant to thermal stresses. With respect to their physical properties, they possess high melting points to provide strong welds in hard use, rendering them ideal for industrial maintenance and repair.
