AWS Class ENi-1 Coated Electrodes are based mainly on nickel, supplemented by minor quantities of iron and traces of elements to ensure high performance. The electrodes have high weldability and resistance to corrosion with good strength in harsh conditions. Mechanical characteristics comprise good tensile strength of 55,000 psi (380 MPa) or even better, as well as good ductility. High-temperature capabilities ensure stable operation in tough situations. Physically, they have a smooth, stable curve and generate little spatter and are therefore suitable for welding applications where strong, crack-resistant joints are needed in critical environments.
