AWS Class ERNiCu-7 filler wire and rod consist mainly of Nickel (≈65%), Copper (≈30%), with Iron, Manganese, and traces of Titanium added to improve weldability and corrosion resistance. It possesses superior mechanical properties, such as a tensile strength of about 480 MPa and an elongation of 30%. The density of the alloy is 8.9 g/cm³ and the melting range is 1170–1240°C. With greater resistance to seawater corrosion and stress corrosion cracking, it is best suited for welding Monel® 400 and other nickel-copper alloys in marine and chemical environments.
