AWS Class ERCuNi MIG and TIG filler welding wire and rod consist mainly of copper (Cu) with about 30% nickel (Ni), and traces of iron (Fe) and manganese (Mn) for increased strength and resistance to corrosion. They have good mechanical properties such as a tensile strength of about 480 MPa, good ductility, and toughness, and are thus suitable for use in marine and industrial applications. Their physical characteristics involve a density of approximately 8.9 g/cm³ and a melting point close to 1150°C, which assures them to be durable and seawater and adverse environment resistant.
