AWS Class ERNiCrMo-4 MIG and TIG welding wire and rod consist mainly of Nickel (Ni), along with high concentrations of Chromium (Cr), Molybdenum (Mo), Iron (Fe), and Tungsten (W) to provide high corrosion resistance. These have good mechanical properties, such as high tensile strength (usually about 760 MPa), satisfactory elongation (greater than 30%), and good toughness. They provide very good physical resistance to crevice corrosion, pitting, and stress corrosion cracking in severe environments. Such characteristics make them well suited for welding nickel alloys in chemical, marine, and aerospace industries.
