AWS Class ERNiCr-3 MIG and TIG filler welding wire and rod consist mainly of nickel (Ni) with approximately 20% chromium (Cr), 3-4% iron (Fe), and trace amounts of manganese (Mn), silicon (Si), and other elements for improved strength and corrosion resistance. They possess good mechanical properties, such as a tensile strength of about 690 MPa and good toughness at high and low temperatures. Their physical characteristics consist of a density of approximately 8.4 g/cm³ and a melting point of approximately 1370°C and they are suited for welding under high-temperature and corrosive conditions such as in petrochemical and marine applications.
