Maraging Steel Bars consist mainly of iron, with very high nickel content (18-25%), together with trace amounts of cobalt, molybdenum, and titanium. This special composition offers high strength and toughness. The mechanical properties are a tensile strength of 2,000-2,500 MPa, with high yield strength and hardness, and they are best suited for high-stress applications. Maraging steel also possesses good resistance to cracking and fatigue. Physically, it possesses a comparatively low thermal expansion and oxidation resistance, so it is found applicable in aerospace, tooling, and high-performance applications.
