Grade Mar M247 round bars constitute an extraordinary performance alloy, dominated by nickel (approximately 60-70%), though present along with chromium, cobalt and trace elements. As an alloy, it finds its application in turbine engines based on its superior strength and corrosion resistance at elevated temperatures. Mechanically, it is characterized by high tensile strength, fatigue, and creep strength at high temperatures. Physically, it has very good thermal stability and resistance to oxidation, which makes it suitable for aerospace and high-stress use.
