A286 Round Bar consists of about 25% chromium, 15% nickel, and traces of molybdenum, titanium, and aluminum and has good resistance to oxidation and corrosion at high temperatures. The mechanical properties are tensile strength of 110-130 ksi, yield strength of 60-80 ksi, and elongation of 25%. It has strength at high temperatures up to 1300°F (704°C). Its physical characteristics consist of a density of 7.87 g/cm³, excellent weldability, and resistance to creep at high levels, making it particularly suited for use in aerospace, chemical processing, and power generation applications.
