Hastelloy C276 wire is a nickel-molybdenum-chromium alloy that contains iron and tungsten with excellent corrosion resistance in severe conditions. It consists of 57% nickel, 16% molybdenum, 15.5% chromium and 4% tungsten in composition. It possesses a tensile strength of 690 MPa, yield strength of 283 MPa and elongation of 40% in the mechanical aspects. It has a density of 8.89 g/cm³, melting point of 1370–1390°C and superior thermal stability in its physical aspects. These characteristics make it particularly suitable for use in chemical processing marine applications and pollution control devices where acid chloride and oxidizer resistance is essential.
