Hastelloy C22 wire is a nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloy with tungsten providing outstanding corrosion resistance in oxidizing and reducing conditions. Its standard composition consists of ~56% Nickel, ~22% Chromium, ~13% Molybdenum, ~3% Iron, and trace elements. It has a tensile strength of 690 MPa, yield strength of 310 MPa, and elongation of 40%. Hastelloy C22 contains a density of 8.69 g/cm³ and melting point of 1325–1370°C. This wire is best suited for chemical, marine, and aerospace usage where they are expected to resist acids, chloride pitting, and stress corrosion cracking.
