Hastelloy W Wire is a nickel alloy with the main constituents as Ni (balance), Co (2.5-3.5%), Mo (22-25%), Fe (4-6%), Cr (4-6%), and small percentages of C, Si, and Mn. It is characterized by superior strength, toughness, and resistance against oxidation at high temperature. Its mechanical properties are tensile strength of ~760 MPa, yield strength of ~350 MPa, and elongation of ~40%. The alloy possesses a density of 9.14 g/cm³, melting range of 1330–1380°C, and superior thermal conductivity, which makes it suitable for aerospace and welding in harsh environments.
