Hastelloy X wire is a nickel alloy super alloy that has good oxidation resistance and high-temperature strength. Its composition is nickel (47.5%), iron (18%) chromium (22%), molybdenum (9%), cobalt (1.5%) and trace elements. It has a tensile strength of approximately 750 MPa, yield strength of 345 MPa and elongation of 30%. The density of the wire is 8.22 g/cm³, melting range is 1260–1355°C and it has good thermal conductivity. Hastelloy X has mechanical strength up to 1200°C and is therefore suitable for aerospace, furnace and gas turbine applications.
