Monel flanges are made up mainly of nickel (63-70%) and copper (28-34%), along with minor additions of iron, manganese, carbon and silicon. They provide superior corrosion resistance, particularly in marine and chemical environments. They have a tensile strength of 550-700 MPa, yield strength of 240-345 MPa, and elongation of 35-45%. Monel flanges have a hardness of around 65-85 HRB. They are physically having a density of 8.8 g/cm³, a melting point of approximately 1300-1350°C, and possessing excellent thermal and electrical conductivity, for which they find excellent uses in high-stress applications.
