Bars of Inconel 617 consist mainly of nickel (50-60%), chromium (20-23%), and iron and contain additions of cobalt (12-15%), molybdenum (8-10%), with traces of aluminum, titanium, and carbon. They have excellent tensile strength (up to 1030 MPa) mechanically excellent yield strength (300-450 MPa), and high elongation (up to 50%). Physically, Inconel 617 bars exhibit a very high melting point (~1350°C), a low thermal expansion coefficient, and high resistance to oxidation and thermal fatigue, offering long-term strength and stability even under extreme environments.
