Copper Nickel 70/30 nuts consist of around 70% copper and 30% nickel with minor amounts of iron and manganese to increase corrosion resistance. Their mechanical characteristics are tensile strength of around 485 MPa, yield strength of 170 MPa, and elongation of 30%. The nuts possess very good toughness and durability. Physically, they possess a density of 8.94 g/cm³, a melting point of 1170–1240°C and a thermal conductivity of 29 W/m·K. Their excellent resistance to corrosion by seawater makes them well suited for use in marine and industrial applications.
