Copper Nickel 70/30 Nuts consist of 70% copper and 30% nickel with minor levels of iron and manganese. They have a perfect combination of properties that give outstanding resistance to corrosion, especially against seawater, and are well suited for use in marine and offshore environments. The mechanical specifications are tensile strength of around 55-70 ksi (380-480 MPa) and yield strength of about 25-40 ksi (170-275 MPa). Physically, the material is 8.9 g/cm³ in density and has a melting point of approximately 1250°C (2282°F). The nuts are extremely erosion-resistant and durable to provide long-term service in harsh environments.
