Haynes bars consist mainly of nickel, cobalt, chromium, molybdenum iron which have good corrosion and high-temperature resistance. Their mechanical properties are high tensile strength (generally greater than 800 MPa) good elongation (about 40%) and good creep resistance. Physically they possess a density of about 8.2 g/cm³, a melting range of 1330–1410°C and good thermal conductivity.
