Invar 42 Bar is an iron-nickel alloy containing about 41% nickel and balance iron, providing low thermal expansion. It possesses tensile strength of about 480 MPa, yield strength of 240 MPa and elongation of 30%. With a density of 8.12 g/cm³, it possesses a melting point of 1430°C and a thermal expansion coefficient of 4.8 µm/m°C (20-100°C). It has good ductility, magnetic properties and very good dimensional stability and it is well suited for electronic and aerospace applications that need low thermal expansion.
