Mu Metal sheets and plates consist of nickel (about 77%), iron (15%), copper (5%) and molybdenum (2%) for improved permeability and corrosion resistance. They have very good mechanical properties, such as a tensile strength of about 483 MPa and hardness of 120 HV. Their physical properties are high magnetic permeability (μ up to 100,000), low coercivity (0.2 A/m), and density of 8.7 g/cm³. With a Curie temperature of 450°C and excellent ductility, Mu Metal is particularly well-suited to shielding applications within sensitive electronic environments.
