Mu Metals Foil consists mainly of nickel (77%), iron (15%), copper (5%), and trace molybdenum and chromium. Its unusual composition offers high magnetic permeability, which makes it well-suited for use in shielding applications. Its mechanical characteristics are high tensile strength (about 60,000 psi) and high formability. Mu Metals Foil is stable in a broad range of temperatures, generally between -200°C and 300°C. It is very resistant to magnetic saturation and exhibits low coercivity, guaranteeing better performance in applications including electromagnetic shielding and interference rejection in sensitive electronic equipment.
